Yuan graduated with a PhD in psychoacoustics from Indiana University and now is a postdoctoral researcher in the TESS Lab. She is currently investigating neural plasticity and its role in auditory perception. Her work in the TESS Lab also focuses on developing objective measurements for outcomes of tinnitus treatment.
Grace Conchas

Grace graduated with her AuD in 2020 from the University of Minnesota. She is a postdoctoral fellow through the NIH T32 Translational Neuromodulation Training Program. Her primary focus in the lab is using paired neuromodulation in combination with integrative healing to treat pain. She is also concentrating on how her research in the lab can be translated into clinical practice and identifying potential healthcare barriers.
Anna Organ

Anna graduated from the University of North Dakota in 2021 with a B.S. in Biology with a Pre-Professional Health Emphasis, and a minor in Spanish. Prior to joining the Lim Lab, she was a nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician. Currently, she is working as a clinical researcher in studies that involve ultrasound stimulation of the spleen. In the future, she hopes to continue her education and further explore the field of medicine.
Morgainne Aback

Morgainne graduated from Rollins College in 2020 with a B.A. in Biology and Music (Performance Emphasis) and a minor in German. They are currently working as a clinical researcher on studies involving implanted vagus nerve stimulation and ultrasound-based modulation of the spleen. Looking ahead, Morgainne plans to pursue a Ph.D. focused on emerging and neglected diseases and is excited to contribute to the development of new vaccines and treatments that improve health in underserved communities.
Maryam Zebarjadi

Maryam Zebarjadi completed her PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Minnesota in 2025 and, since January 2026, is a postdoctoral researcher. Her research focuses on AI-driven digital health and multimodal physiological data analysis. She works on the REVEAL (Research Evaluating Vagal Excitation and Anatomical Links) project, investigating the system-level effects of vagus nerve stimulation across multiple organ systems. She also develops computer vision and deep learning-based tracking methods and integrated hardware (wearable)–software systems for ultrasound-guided therapy, spanning data collection and quality assessment to model design.
Karl-Heinz Dyballa

Karl-Heinz is a research assistant who graduated with a doctor title at Hannover Medical School, Germany. He is currently researching on an NIH funded project in developing a novel electrical auditory prosthesis that can stimulate directly within the auditory nerve: the Auditory Nerve Implant (ANI). Thereby he is investigating the temporal and spectral properties of the generated signals when stimulating within the human auditory nerve.
Zohara Cohen

Zohara is a research manager in the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. In that role she supports the submission of grant applications, manages contracts and reporting for funded research projects, and oversees the implementation of observational and clinical research studies. Prior to this role, Zohara was an informatics research manager for the Informatics Consulting Service, now BPIC. And before coming to the University of Minnesota, Zohara spent six years as a program officer at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. She graduated with a PhD in mechanical engineering with a research focus in orthopaedic biomechanics from Columbia University.
