Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Otolaryngology as well as an Institute for Translational Neuroscience Scholar. Graduated with a BSE in Bioengineering from University of California-San Diego in 2000. Completed a dual MSE in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from University of Michigan where he also completed his PhD in Biomedical Engineering in 2005. His graduate work at the University of Michigan was advised by Dr. David Anderson, who established and served as Director of the Center for Neural Communication Technology. Completed postdoctoral research in the Otorlaryngology Department at Hannover Medical School in Germany from 2006 to 2009 under Dr. Thomas Lenarz, who is the Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology and Director of the German Hearing Center in Hannover.
